Started as a child artist before becoming the lead actress with Raj Kapoor's Prem Rog (1982). Went on to do a number of successful movies thru the 80s, especially with Mithun Chakraborty, before retiring to get married. After a 15 yrs break, has done a few movies recently. Fondly called Pandi.
