Eldest son of Shashdhar Mukherjee, launched by his dad. Made quite a few memorable movies during 60s. Tried to adjust by making action movies during ealry 70s, but didnt fit and fizzled out. Another artist largely benefited by great music of 60s and singing of Mohd Rafi.
Trivia
Directional Debut Humsaya (1968) starring Sharmila Tagore and Mala Sinha bombed. Later on, directed Chhailla Babu (1977) starring then-fading superstar Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman.
