A light-hearted comedy, it tells of a rich and obstinate heiress(Leena Chandavarkar), who in order to circumvent a marriage clause in her father's will for getting hold of the property from her well-wishing aunt and uncle, finds a hired husband(Sanjeev Kumar). He is none else than the man who is truly in love with her but is hesistant to express his love to her for fear of being rebuked. He eventually tames her.
