Jai Hind (1999)
(Released: Apr 23, 1999)
Vijay (Kunal Goswami) is a soldier in the Indian Armed Forces. He accompanies a group of medical personnel in strife-torn Jammu & Kashmir to assist people in need of medical aid. Once there, he meets with Gulrosh (Rishi Kapoor), a local resident, and both become fast friends. Things take a turn for the worse, when Gulrosh's sister is killed by Indian soldiers. Gulrosh takes a dislike to Vijay and the Indian army, and joins a band of jihaadi mujhaideen, who want Jammu & Kashmir to be separate from India. These rebels abduct Vikram (Mohnish Bahl), the son of a Sajanlal (Ajit Vachani), an Indian MLA, and hold him until such time the Indian Government releases some of their colleagues held in Indian prisons. And now the stage is set for a confrontation between these fighters and the Indian army on one hand, and between Vijay and Gulrosh on the other.
