Mill owner Kanaiyalal's daughter Kamala at college loves Raj, the son of a mill supervisor, but Kanaiyalal arranges her betrothal to Mohan, the son of Seth Dindayal. She frowns upon this matach and decides to have a registered marriage with Raj but now her mother takes ill and the marriage is called off. Mohan marries her but knowing full well that she is in love with Raj, divorces her and sees to it that she is married to her lover Raj.
