This is a tale of power politics. It is woven round the theme that temptations of power, usher in corruption. The conflict develops when a young teacher challenges and resists a tyrranous power holder. The public unrest against the tyrant steadily ralliers around the teacher, and he steps into power. But the public that vetoges him in power has no hold over him. The new tyrant goes his tyrannous ways and a yet newer conflict is endengered; this time between the new tyrant on the one hand, and his opponents and his wife, who eptiomises those values of life for which they had fought, on the other. The eternal conflict goes on.
