Rakesh, a photographer, believes in and practises black magic. He meets Supriya, a model, and falls in love with her. When he realises that she does not reciprocate his love he resorts to black magic. Supriya's friends are suspicious of Rakesh's intentions and they warn Supriya to be careful and to avoid Rakesh. This enrages Rakesh to such an extent that he very methodically and cold bloodedly set murdering Supriya's friends. Ravi, a police inspecter, is appointed to conduct the investigation and apprehend the murderer. In due course of time the murders are pinned on Rakesh and he is sentenced to life imprisonment. Soon after Supriya and Ravi, who fell in Love while the investigation was being conducted, get married. Soon they become the proud parents of a lovely little girl. It is on little Mini's birthday that Rakesh escapes from jail and breaks into Supriya's house where he tries to force himself upon her. In an attempt to save herself she douses him with kerosene and sets him on fire. Rakesh dies but his spirit is at large. Rakesh's spirit now starts haunting Supriya determined to satisfy its lust for her. Time and again its attempts are foiled by timely interventions and in frustration it possesses Ravi who turns upon Supriya with a vengeance. When Supriya realises that her family is getting a affected by Rakeshs' unhealthy desire for her, she decides to submit herself to the spirit in order to protect her husband and her child. Supriya makes a bargain with the spirit but just as the spirit is about to have its way with her, Ravi arrives there in a helicoper and showers the spirit with the letters "Om" which sear the spirit, exterminating it for good, leaving Supriya free from its evil influence.
