Narasimha (Sunny Deol) is a young man who belongs to a poor family consisting of his dad, his mom, two sisters and a younger brother. He gets his sister married to an eligible man from the same town. On the occasion of his sister giving birth, he returns home to find that a conflict has broken out between the communities of Bajrangpur and Nomanpur. He takes shelter, and when everything has calmed down he goes home to find his entire family has been killed. A devastated Narasimha loses all interest in life and turns to alcohol, and crime. He also acts as a hit-man for Suraj Narayan Singh alias Baapji (Om Puri) for a fee. But when Baapji asks him to kill Ravi Rastogi (Ravi Behl) for falling in love with his daughter, Meenu (Urmila). Narasimha refuses, and on the contrary joins forces with Ravi, his sister, Anita (Dimple Kapadia), to force Baapji to get the young couple married. The conflict escalates to such proportions that Baapji finally gets arrested and lodged in a cell. All seems clear for Ravi and Meenu to get married, but Meenu wants proof that her dad is a criminal, and she gives Ravi 24 hours to find proof or she will marry the boy of her dad's choice.
