Commissioner Din Dayal Kapoor(Shammi Kapoor) makes Dadu Kaliya(Vinod Khanna) take the place of his lookalike inspector Vinod(Vinod Khanna) who was killed by Devi Dutt(Kadar Khan) so that they can reach to the real culprits. But how long will he hide the secret of Vinod's death from his family mainly his wife Sarah(Meenakshi Sheshadri) and his mother(Nirupa Roy). At the same time, it's trying time for Dadu's girl friend Vicky(Kiran Juneja) and his mother(Kamini Kaushal).
