Seth Dharma Dass's munim Dhan Raj owns a small house with a noble wife Lakshmi. His elder son Ashok is studying in the city and younger son Amar and daughter Mamta are staying with him. This constitutes his happy home. Shankar, the nepherw of Seth Dharam Dass murders him and puts the balme on Dhan Raj. While absconding, Dhan Raj is hit by a police bullet and jumps into a stream. Lakshmi leaves the town with Amar and Mamta to join in her elder son Ashok in the city. She fails to trace Ashok. The memebers of a happy home seperated. Amar grows up to become a taxi driver. Ashok is married to Chanda, the daughter of a rich widow Shanti Devi. Asha, the only daughter of millionair Seth Ram Lal enters the life of Amar. Asha brings a ray of hope. Shankar who has become a rich man after possessing the riches of his dead uncle ensnares Shanti Devi, Ashok and Chanda in his Vile. One day Amar comes to know that his father after being shot by police is safe and alive and had served life imprisonment. Amar spares no effort to find his father Dhan Raj but does not succed. Shankar is after Mamta and wants to have her. He manouvers to show Dhan Raj in his room and compells her to marry him. Else he would murder Dhan Raj. Despite the opposition of Amar, Mamta is getting married to Shankar when Asha enters and reveals that Shankar is already a married man and she is his wife. The marriage is stopped. Shankar accepting Asha as his wife goes away with her.
