Bhakta Dhruva

Maharaj Uttanpath decides to re-marry Suruchi after he finds that his first wife, Sunita (Mridula Rani), is unable to bear any children. Shortly after the marriage, first Sunita and then Suruchi both give birth to sons, Dhruva (Shashi Kapoor) and Uttam. Suruchi and her maid then concoct a scheme that will ensure the death of Dhruva. This is so that Uttam can be the only heir to ascend the throne.
